About Steve
Steve O’Dell joined the International Headquarters staff as Director of Development in October 2026 following a career of building businesses and leading startups.
A member of Zeta Epsilon Chapter at California State University-Long Beach, Steve served as Chapter President and Treasurer as a collegian and later as an officer for the Zeta Epsilon Alumni Association. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance before beginning a career spanning business and entrepreneurship.
Five years after graduating, Steve purchased a company in the industrial distribution sector and went on to play key roles in the growth of several organizations via mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and startups. After spending his first 50 years in California, Steve relocated with his wife and three sons to Charlotte, NC, to help launch the Haas Formula 1 racing team—the first American F1 constructor in more than 30 years. Brother O’Dell also earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Throughout his career, Steve’s business ventures have often involved Theta Chi brothers. His experience, his interest in securing the Fraternity’s future for years to come, and his desire to support long-term growth by building critical endowments made joining the Development team a natural next step.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his new granddaughter, traveling with his wife, Terese, and working on his tea farm in North Carolina. He has also served onvarious athletic, charitable, homeowner’s association. and youth sports boards.
