Brother Stephen Murphy, Zeta Pi/Old Dominion 2002, was recently recognized by LEAD Hampton Roads, a leadership program that allows local business people from the Hampton Roads area in southeast Virginia to come together to for sustainable discussion about regionalism.
“The Hampton Roads community is segregated by more than seven different municipalities,” said Murphy. “The goal of the program is to provide local business leaders with an expanded sense connectivity by exploring the local diversity, highlighting many of the powerful ‘drivers’ of our region. These includes, but are not limited to, the importance of our ports, bridges/infrastructures, cultural efforts, educational highlights, research/development, and human capital,” he added.
As part of his recognition, Murphy will be a component of local board work over the next year. He also plans to continue to be involved with the LEAD Hampton Roads program through alumni development and outreach.
