The Volunteer Spotlight for January highlights the work of Father Phil Bowers, Alpha Delta/ Purdue 1976.
Father Phil Bowers has many years of service as a dedicated volunteer for Theta Chi Fraternity on a local and national level.
Father Phil began his service to Theta Chi as a chapter advisor for the Alpha Delta chapter at Purdue University. As a tribute to his dedication to the fraternity, he was initiated into Theta Chi by the undergraduate members at Purdue as an alumnus initiate.
Father Phil went on to serve on the Grand Chapter of Theta Chi as the National Chaplain. He also served as a board member of Theta Chi Funds for Leadership and Education and as committee member on the national Ritual Committee.
Over the years, Phil has received the Theta Chi For Life Award, the second highest honor in Theta Chi Fraternity and the Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor that can be awarded to a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.
Father Phil continues to volunteer for the fraternity as an outstanding speaker at several Theta Chi National events. Most recently he was a keynote speaker at the Deranian Presidents Conference He has built a reputation as a “go-to” speaker for our values, ideals and about Fraternity leadership.
Phil currently lives and works in Fishers Indiana and is the head pastor of Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church.
