Washington, D.C. – During the 166th Anniversary Convention in Washington, D.C., the Beta Psi Chapter at Presbyterian College was named the 2021 recipient of the Grand Chapter Scholarship Award. During the 2021 calendar year, the Beta Psi Chapter maintained an impressive grade point average of 3.34 on a 4.0 scale!

The Fraternity’s Maxim, “Alma Mater First and Theta Chi for Alma Mater,” emphasizes that Theta Chi members demonstrate loyalty to alma mater as students by excelling in academic work.

The Grand Chapter Scholarship Award, also referred to as the Stanford Trophy, is presented each year to the chapter with the most outstanding academic record for the previous calendar year. The award is represented by a trophy which was given to the Grand Chapter by Alpha Epsilon Chapter at Stanford University in 1928. The Stanford Trophy winner is determined by comparing the chapter GPA to the campus all-men’s average. Since some campuses measure grades outside of the traditional 4.0 scale, a formula is utilized to properly gauge academic performance for each chapter and to determine a winner.
