Theta Chi Fraternity pauses to remember the brothers that we lost 14 years ago on September 11, 2001:
Last November the Grand Chapter hosted a Memorial Service at Ground Zero for our fallen brothers. As an employee of the 911 Museum, Sean Britton (Epsilon Sigma/Wagner 1992) helped orchestrate the event. Pictured below is National President, Dick Elder, speaking at Ground Zero during the ceremony.
Rest in Peace, brothers. You are not forgotten.
We also pause to remember the other victims in New York City, Washington, D.C. and near Shanksville, PA - as well as the many stories of heroism and selfless acts that occurred on September 11 and in the days, weeks, and years that followed. One story being that of Patrick A Versage (Epsilon Sigma/Wagner 1990).
Patrick, known by his friends as Patso, was a retired Port Authority Police Officer from the Emergency Services Unit. He made headlines in 1998 after rescuing two men from jumping off the Bayonne Bridge, mere hours apart. As an active firefighter with Station 29 in Toms River, Patso was a first responder during 9/11. He worked at Ground Zero for a year and a half, assissting with the recovery efforts. On October 3, 2014 Patso entered the Chapter Eternal after fighting health complications caused by
the 9/11 and Ground Zero debris. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
We thank those that serve and continue to serve each and every day.
We shall remain always undivided in our loyalty to our flag - our country.
Theta Chi Remembers.
