Theta Chi colonized at Indiana State University in Terre Haute last week. Eleven undergraduates formally pledged at the September 15 ceremony, with Foundation Chapter Vice President Brad Burk representing the Grand Chapter as presiding officer. Indiana State University Assistant Director of Student Activities and Organizations Tracy Machtan and Delta Pi Alumni President Craig Simpson (Delta Pi/Indiana State 1981) attended as well. Representing the International Headquarters staff were Director of Recruitment and Expansion JD Ford, Director of Standards Jason Handberg, and Director of Volunteer Development Bill Russo.

The initial interest group formed in late 2011 when a group of undergraduates identifying with Theta Chis organizational values saw an opportunity to help other Indiana State students interact with each other, participate in community service events, network and build lasting relationships.

Originally established as the Indiana State Normal School in 1865, Indiana State University today has an enrollment of over 10,000 undergraduate students and was ranked as one of the "Best in the Midwest" schools by the Princeton Review for the seventh year in a row. Indiana State is home to 14 NIC-affiliated fraternities and nine NPC-affiliated sororities and women's fraternities.
