Iota Omicron teamed up with the Roxy Theatre Group to present Story Time Live, Nov. 20, 2013, at the FIU Stadium Club. Proceeds from the event, benefits Reading is Fundamental, an organization that focuses on literacy.
During Story Book Live, teams of students wrote and performed their own on-stage readings before an audience of children. After all of the stories had been presented, the children were asked to vote for their favorite story/performance to determine the contest winner.
Four FIU sororities competed in the competition. Alpha Omicron Pi presented “The Color Zebra,” Sigma Kappa presented “Galaxy Park,” Phi Mu presented “Wishtopia,” and Alpha Xi Delta presented “Mixed Up, Messed Up, Fairytale,” with “Wishtopia” taking top honors. A total of $2,200 was raised for Reading is Fundamental.
