Theta Chi Fraternity honored six alumni with the Earl D. Rhodes Theta Chi for Life Award for their long-time friendship and service to the Fraternity. The awards were presented during the closing banquet held at the recently concluded National Convention in Palm Springs, CA.

The recipients of the Theta Chi for Life Award are:

  • Donald E. Fine, Zeta Epsilon/Long Beach State 1963
  • Daniel W. Fleetham, Sr., Alpha/Norwich 1934
  • Terry A. Johnson, Gamma Pi/Buffalo 1971
  • Mark W. Manlove, Gamma Theta/San Diego State 1969
  • Russel D. Van Tassel, Epsilon Delta/Youngstown State 1963
  • Albert A. Zale, Gamma Theta/San Diego State 1954

The Grand Chapter, Theta Chi’s board of directors, established the Theta Chi for Life Award in 1976 in honor of Past National President Earl D. “Dusty” Rhodes (Delta/RPI 1921). The Theta Chi for Life Award is Theta Chi’s second-highest individual award for service to the Fraternity, and the highest award given for service performed on the local or regional level. The award recognizes those alumni who, by their contributions and dedication over the course of their lifetimes, demonstrate that they are in fact and in deed Theta Chis for life.
