Join us in bidding Mitch Nolan (Delta Psi/Kansas 2017) a farewell and commending him on six years of service to Theta Chi.

Mitch began working for Theta Chi in June 2017, serving for two years as a Field Executive. Next, he briefly served as Assistant Director of Collegiate Services, and was then promoted to Director of Chapter Development - a role in which he managed the training and day-to-day operations of the Field Staff and also created Theta Chi’s Chapter Assessment. Mitch then served one year as Director of Health and Safety, prior to his final role as Director of Development where he assisted the Foundation Chapter in their efforts to raise funds for scholarships and leadership education opportunities.

“The two years I served as a Field Executive, I traveled to more states than I’d ever been up until that point. I was very grateful for the opportunity to travel and serve the Fraternity I loved. When you’re thrown into a role that really makes you think on your feet fresh out of your collegiate experience, it makes you figure out who you are. Spending that time on the road, you’re forced to learn how to adapt and develop yourself further into the man you’re meant to be,” Mitch said.

Mitch biggest highlight from his six years on IHQ staff were the successful (re)installations of Zeta Alpha/Slippery Rock and Kappa Nu/Colorado. Nolan led those two expansions during his time as a Field Executive, and was happy to see those groups succeed knowing he had a direct impact on them, and that he was able to give them the same positive fraternal experience that he had.

Another fond memory of Mitch’s was being able to work and attend four different International Conventions and Celebrations including Las Vegas (2018), Indianapolis (2020), Lexington (2021), and Washington, D.C. (2022).

“Everyone is told that the Fraternity is bigger than your chapter and yourself, but you don’t realize how true that is until you attend International events and get to see hundreds of brothers from all over the country that you look forward to seeing again every two years - or as travel allows.”

Mitch has accepted a new full-time position as a Gift Planning Consultant for the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas. His primary responsibilities will be soliciting planned gifts, increasing the volume of donor advised funds, and raising funds to support the efforts of the archdiocese of Kansas City, KS.

“If you’ve ever thought about applying to work on the IHQ staff, do it. The best thing you can do for yourself is take every opportunity granted to you to meet as many people within the Fraternity as possible and to experience things you wouldn’t experience working anywhere else.”

Thank you for your six years of service and the Assisting Hand, Mitch. In fraternity, there is no room for “goodbyes,” so this is a simply a “see you later!”
