During Saturday's business session at the 156th Anniversary Convention, Theta Chi Fraternity elected a new Grand Chapter for the 2012/2014 biennium.

Richard D. Elder (Gamma Theta/San Diego State 1971) and William W. Palmer (Beta Alpha/UCLA 1985) were elected National President and National Vice President, respectively.

In addition to Brother Elder, two brothers- Tait Martin and Doug Miller- were elected as new board members. Thomas Tinnin was re-elected for a second term.

 The 2012-2014 Grand Chapter is:

  • National President- Richard D. Elder (Gamma Theta/San Diego State 1971)
  • National Vice President- William W. Palmer (Beta Alpha/UCLA 1985)
  • National Secretary- Joseph R. D'Amore (Eta Pi/East Stroudsberg 1977)
  • National Treasurer- Douglas M. Allen (Delta Beta/Georgia 1990)
  • National Counselor- Joseph S. Couch (Chi/Auburn 1996)
  • National Marshal- Tait J. Martin (Eta Omicron/Northwestern State 1997)
  • National Chaplain- Douglas A. Miller (Zeta Beta/Adrian 1990)
  • National Historian- Thomas G. Tinnin (Epsilon Phi/Central Missouri 1984)
Retiring from the Grand Chapter are James D. Hardwick (Phi/North Dakota State 1987), Richard I.L. Partridge (Theta/Massachusetts 1991) and Terry A. Johnson (Gamma Pi/Buffalo 1971). 

 

The Grand Chapter is Theta Chi Fraternity’s international board of directors. As the Fraternity's recognized administrative, executive, and judicial head, it is composed of eight volunteer alumnus brothers and the Executive Director (ex-officio). The eight voting members of the Grand Chapter are elected to four-year terms by delegates to the National Convention. The next election will take place at the 158th Anniversary Convention in Minneapolis, MN.
