Jimmy Cox is beginning his second career with Theta Chi Fraternity as the Director of Education where he will provide leadership for the Fraternity’s collegiate education programs. He will manage the Resolute Man initiative, The Resolute Journey, Theta Chi’s pledge education program, leadership programs such as Initiative Academy, and will help to train faculty volunteers. Jimmy previously worked for the Fraternity as a Leadership and Education Consultant from 2009-2011. Since then, he has remained engaged with Theta Chi as an active volunteer in several different capacities.

After completing two years as a consultant, Jimmy began a career in higher education and student affairs primarily focusing his work on student engagement, campus programming, leadership development, and alumni engagement. He worked at Marian University-Indianapolis and recently completed 10years of service at the Purdue for Life Foundation. He oversaw the membership increase and program expansion of Purdue’s student-alumni network, managed the University’s welcome center, led a three-year alumni engagement partnership for fraternities and sororities, and led the alumni clubs team, Purdue’s oldest alumni program.

Outside of work, Jimmy enjoys volunteering in his community for local non-profits, the city, and schools. He served on his local public school board from 2020-2024. He lives in Westfield, IN, with his wife, daughter, and Golden Retriever.

Jimmy received a dual undergraduate degree in political science and history from Purdue University in 2009 and a master’s in higher education and student affairs from Indiana University in Indianapolis in 2013. He joined Theta Chi in 2005 and served Alpha Delta Chapter as President and Vice President. Jimmy was named the 2008/2009 1st Runner Up for the Colley Award and is also a recipient of the Citation of Honor, DeVol Award, and the Kilavos Alumni Award from the Grand Chapter. He is an Honorary Member of nine chapters.
