Theta Chi Fraternity began its journey on Northern Kentucky University’s campus on November 29, 2012 when Northern Kentucky University’s Inter-fraternal Council voted to extend an invitation for colonization to Theta Chi. At the very beginning of January 2013, Darick Brown and Jeffrey Draluck begin the recruitment process for the chapter. The chapter started with five brothers, but then quickly began to flourish.

The colony of Theta Chi Fraternity at Northern Kentucky University reached 56 future brothers in the Fall semester of 2013. With reaching the required 50 members, the colony was allowed to begin the process of initiation. On November 9, 2013, the colony became the Iota Tau Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity on Northern Kentucky University’s campus.
