Iota Beta Receives Fourth NIC Chapter Award of Distinction
Theta Chi’s Iota Beta Chapter at Missouri State University will receive its fourth North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) Chapter Award of Distinction this summer.
The Chapter Award of Distinction recognizes “the undergraduate chapter which is highly functioning in compliance with NIC Standards, seeks to educate others about the benefits of a values based fraternity experience, and works to maintain a healthy relationship with their inter/national organization.” This is the most prestigious award that can presented to a fraternity chapter in the interfraternal world.
Since installing in 1999, the Iota Beta Chapter has remained one of Theta Chi’s most consistently high performing chapters. It is one of only two chapters that have received the Fraternity’s most prestigious award, the Howard R. Alter, Jr. Award, on a record 12 different occasions. Iota Beta Chapter consistently tops the list for academics and recruitment on the Missouri State campus, recently achieving the best chapter and new member GPA. Additionally, the Chapter has won numerous competitions based on philanthropic, academic, and participatory excellence on campus, culminating in being named Missouri State’s Fraternity Chapter of the Year.
The Chapter previously received the NIC Award of Distinction in 2008, 2012, and 2014.
“Theta Chi is grateful and honored to be associated with generations of Iota Beta brothers whose collective efforts made this four-time recognition possible,” explained Executive Director Mike Mayer.
Theta Chi Fraternity is extremely proud of our men at Missouri State and their continued tradition of excellence.
