We were perplexed when an unknown package arrived at the International Headquarters.  We recognized the name of the sender, but couldn't figure out what we were receiving.  We opened our delivery to discover a gift from Capt. Andrew Curtis, Gamma Rho/Florida State 2007: an American flag that had flown over Afghanistan on a combat mission for Operation Enduring Freedom on December 25, 2012.  The package also contained a Certificate of Authenticity indicating that the flag is being presented to Theta Chi Fraternity, and was signed by Capt. Curtis and Lt. Col. Peter P. Mykytyn.

As an undergraduate, Andrew Curtis was in ROTC and was among the first that signed and returned bids offered by staff members during the initial days of Theta Chi's expansion project at Florida State.  Curtis continued on to become a re-chartering member that assisted in the reinstallation of Gamma Rho Chapter in 2006. While stationed in Oklahoma, he aided the Gamma Zeta Colony members as they worked to reinstall the chapter at Oklahoma State.

Capt. Curtis shares,
"I am currently a Flight Commander at the 337 ACS (Air Control Squadron) at Tyndall AFB, FL. I instruct future Air Battle Managers for the USAF. Prior to the current assignment, I was stationed at Tinker AFB, OK where I was an Air Surveillance Officer aboard the E-3 AWACS. I deployed in support of numerous operations including: Haiti Earthquake Ops, Counter Drug Ops, Operation Odyssey Dawn, Operation Unified Protector, and most recently, Operation Enduring Freedom and Combined Defense of the Arabian Gulf."

Captain Curtis - Thanks for your gift and service to country! Theta Chi for Life!
