Theta Chi’s Gamma Zeta Chapter officially returned to campus on Saturday, April 28, with 39 Founding Fathers. National Counselor Thomas G. Tinnin was the installing officer.

Also in attendance were CAB Chairman Jeff Kline (Delta Phi/North Texas 2009) and CAB members/Gamma Zeta alumni Daniel Bays (2001), Brad Carr (2003), George Duckwall (1956) and S.T. Ayers (1951).

Other guests included Philip C. Thornton (Gamma Theta/San Diego State 2005), Jason Howeth (Delta Phi/North Texas 2012), Travis Vance (Gamma Zeta/Oklahoma State 2005), and Andrew Curtis (Gamma Rho/Florida State 2007). Representing the International Headquarters staff were Director of Recruitment and Expansion JD Ford and Leadership and Education Consultants Beau Slayton and Chris Ludwig.

Originally installed May 10, 1947, Gamma Zeta was recolonized in the fall 2009 semester after a four-year absence from campus. National Counselor Tinnin played an integral role in recruiting the initial group of new members and energizing the local alumni base.

Oklahoma State University (OSU) is the flagship institution of the Oklahoma State University System. Established in 1890 as the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, OSU remained a small agricultural college until then-University President Henry G. Bennett put an aggressive campus expansion plan into action in the late 1930s. Oklahoma A&M became Oklahoma State University in 1957. Today, OSU’s enrollment is approximately 18,000 undergraduates. There are 19 NIC-affiliated fraternities and 12 sororities and women’s fraternities.
