‘Volunteer’ should be Brother Adam Graves, Gamma Tau/Drake 2016, middle name. In his three semesters at Drake University, Graves has put in more than 130 hours of community service. He is always ready to lend a helping hand -- be it helping a second grader at the local Boys & Girls Club who is struggling with his math homework, developing the Student Activities Board for the Drake University Blue Book Dash, or serving food at a shelter in the Bahamas, Graves is ready to roll up his sleeves and pitch in.

“Graves is the kind of guy who is always trying to push the Fraternity forward in many different ways,” says Leadership and Education Consultant Corey Esquenazi, Iota Theta/Central Florida 2011, who had the opportunity to meet with Graves on a recent visit to the Drake University campus. “He exemplifies what a Theta Chi is at that campus. Whether he is doing something at the chapter level or on campus, he gives his all. I expect great things from him in the future,” said Esquenazi.

Graves was recently recognized for his dedication to being a volunteer at the 2014 Greek Gala, held Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Drake University campus. In all, 18 awards were handed out that evening. Graves was the recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award.
