Pat Kilbane, Zeta Beta/Adrian 2002, was recently appointed to the Jacksonville Aviation Authority by Governor Rick Scott.
The Jacksonville Aviation Authority owns and manages the Jacksonville Airport System consisting of four airports – Jacksonville International, Cecil Airport, Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport and Herlong Recreational Airport. The diversified airport system serves the commercial, business and recreational aviation needs of the City of Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast
Georgia.
Members of the of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority board are all appointed. Seven of the ten board members are appointed by the governor and can serve two consecutive terms. The other three members of the board are appointed by the Mayor of Jacksonville.
“An outgoing member of the board submitted my name to the governor for consideration for the position,” said Kilbane. “I filled out an application, interviewed with the governor, and received the appointment a week later,” he continued.
As a member of the Florida Bar for eight years, and a Financial Advisor, Kilbane is more than qualified for the position.
Kilbane graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Juris Doctor in 2005. Kilbane was a Shareholder/Partner at Gray Robinson, P.A., prior to joining Ullmann Financial in 2013.
Committed to service in the Greater Jacksonville Area, Kilbane has served on the Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Associations (JBA) Board of Governors since 2007. This June, he will begin his term as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the JBA. Kilbane is the current President of the Notre Dame Club of Greater Jacksonville and received Notre Dame Club’s “Club Member of the Year” award in 2013. He is also a 2012 graduate of Leadership Jacksonville, a 2009 graduate of Leadership St. Johns, and the Jacksonville Regional Political Leadership Institute. Pat and his wife, Kathy, have lived in Jacksonville’s Southside since 2005.
As for the impact that Theta Chi has had on his life, Kilbane had this to say.
“The best things that I learned from Theta Chi were: the value of deep and meaningful relationships; the importance of being a good person; and doing the best job you can do! If you are a good person you earn the trust and respect of others. If you do a good job and do it right the first time – the same thing – trust and respect.”
