Collegiate Profile: Evan Fisher
(Fisher with girlfriend, Micah Stoner)
As he prepares to graduate, Evan Fisher (Zeta Kappa/Ohio Northern 2025) reflects on a collegiate journey defined by connection, leadership, and brotherhood. Recently honored as ONU's 2025 Greek Man of the Year, Fisher shares the values and moments that made his time in Theta Chi unforgettable — from spontaneous chapter hangouts to shaping the future of Zeta Kappa as Chapter President and Treasurer. In this Q&A, Evan opens up about the impact of his Theta Chi experience, the lessons learned in leadership, and the advice he’d offer his younger self as he looks ahead to what’s next.
Q: What attracted you to Theta Chi specifically?
A: I found myself drawn to Theta Chi because of how welcoming everybody was. As a freshman eager to make friends and get involved, the brothers of the Zeta Kappa Chapter took an interest in getting to know me and shortly after invited me to join. The connections I have made here will last a lifetime.
Q: What has been the highlight of your collegiate experience thus far?
A: The highlight of my college experience was spending time with my brothers. Whether it was during a summer retreat or a Super Bowl watch party, I cherish every moment I've had with these guys. I can't imagine what my college experience would have been like if I hadn't met them.
Q: You served as Chapter President and Treasurer for Zeta Kappa. What did you learn from serving as a leader?
A: I quickly learned the importance of relying on those around you. No single brother has all the right answers. It's important to bounce your thoughts and ideas off your executive council and advisers and lean on them for support. A cooperative chapter makes for a strong chapter.
Q: You've also earned the Resolute Man distinction – tell us about that opportunity.
A: I attended the Initiative Academy in summer 2023 (Rho Class). I had a blast getting to meet other brothers from across the country and getting to know one another on a deeper level. The activities and discussions we had not only shaped me into a better leader, but a better brother. One of my favorite memories from the experience was teaching brothers who were not from the midwest how to play Euchre (card game).
Q: Congratulations on being named Greek Man of the Year. Can you tell us more?
A: The Outstanding Greek Man of the Year Award is given to the ONU Greek man who best exemplifies the ideals and philosophies of the North American Interfraternity Conference. The award recognizes the man in the community that stands for and strives to better the overall Greek image through campus, community, and Greek involvement. It was an honor to be recognized for my service to our Greek Life community. I've served as Chapter President, on our Interfraternity Council, and as one of two co-chairs planning the entirety of our Greek Week.

Q: If you could go back and give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
A: Appreciate the time you get during college. Those four years are going to fly by before you know it. Don't spend that time all in one place. Balancing your work and social life is crucial to getting the most out of your college experience.
[Editor’s Note: In addition, during the 2025 Ohio Northern Greek Awards Zeta Kappa Chapter received Gold Chapter through ONU’s Standards of Excellence program and also received an award recognizing their yearly philanthropic project “Rock the Tundra,” which raised more than $2000 for charity this past fall!]
