Alpha Rho alum, Carl R. Hogan (1959), was elected president of the Washington State Fair Jan. 17, 2012, by the board of directors following the annual shareholders meeting.
As President, Hogan will be responsible for overseeing events at the facility throughout the year, as well as the rollout of the new fair name, the Washington State Fair. Activities Hogan will oversee include: the 2013 Spring Fair in Puyallup, WA, the Puyallup Fair Foundation Roundup Auction/Dinner, the Washington State Fair, and Oktoberfest.
Hogan, 75, was born in Tacoma, WA, and raised in Puyallup. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business from the University of Washington, and is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He is owner of Willow Capital, and Citation Management, focusing on shopping centers and real estate management.
Hogan and his wife, Betty, have been married 50 years. They have two children, Wendy Dent (Charlie) and Jeff Hogan (Kristin), and six grandchildren.
Over the years, Hogan has been active with the Masonic organization, Puyallup Kiwanis and Mt. View Lutheran church. He also served on the board for Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup Chamber, Wilcox Farm and Washington Athletic Club.
